About This Web Site

Why Did I Create Angels Sing Along?

I built this web site to provide a free online tool to help children with autism and dyslexia learn how to sing.

Many children with autism have difficulties with verbal communication. Singing encourages vocalization and can help these children learn to express themselves more effectively. The repetitive nature of songs and melodies can aid in developing speech patterns and language skills. Singing provides a way for children with autism to express emotions they might not be able to articulate verbally. Songs with repetitive lyrics or melodies can help improve memory and cognitive skills. Music and singing can have a calming effect on children with autism, helping to reduce anxiety and stress.

Singing involves rhythm, which can help children with dyslexia improve their phonological awareness. This awareness is crucial for reading development, as it helps in understanding the sounds within words. Singing can help children with dyslexia process language more effectively by engaging both hemispheres of the brain. The rhythm and melody of songs can aid in the retention and recall of words, phrases, and sentence structures, making it easier for children to learn and use language. Singing along to songs with printed lyrics can help children improve their reading fluency. The rhythmic flow of music can guide children in pacing their reading, helping them to focus on the flow of sentences rather than getting stuck on individual words. Singing provides a non-threatening way to engage with language and can build confidence as children successfully learn and perform songs. Singing provides a break from more challenging tasks while still promoting language development in a low-pressure environment.

Due to all the benefits of singing, music therapies often use singing as an effective way to help children with autism and dyslexia develop communication and language skills. However, not all families of these special children can afford the cost of continuous music therapies. This site provides a free tool for these children, featuring one song per page, with lyrics, pre-recorded word-by-word lyrics using AI-generated human-like voices, and a YouTube video that kids can sing along with. This website is designed to be simple and easy to use for the convenience of these special children. The original songwriters, singers, and video creators retain the copyrights for all the songs on this website.

I hope you enjoy the songs I’ve prepared for the kids! If you have suggestions for other songs that can be added to the list, please contact me and let me know.
